One of my very favorite (and easy!) makeovers are of lamps! I spend a good chunk of my time on Pinterest just drooling over them. I wish I knew now what I didn’t know a few years ago when I purchased two lamps new at walmart. I can’t even believe I did that! My goodness the simple and inexpensive transformation that can be made out an inexpensive thrift store lamp is absolutely amazing. There really is no reason to go buy new! And here are a few of my favorite lamps that prove that fact! Now, without further delay and in no particular order!

The bold combination on this lamp literally made me gasp when I saw it! Is that yellow not divine? I love how, despite the primary color (or maybe because of it?) this lamp feels incredibly mature and very expensive! Check out the post about it over at the Impatient Gardener!

There is something so darned sweet about this lamp! Where a lot of ladies might swoon for the shade actually what really draws me here is that just gorgeous combination of the old white glass base and that beautiful aqua color she chose! Reminds me of literally an old lamp my grandma used to have and now I want one! Go check it out over at I Spaced it Pretty!

Talk about dramatic! Everything about this lamp makes me swoon, I love the black and the shade is just stunning! I don’t know if I would have had the courage to go that bold but my gosh did it pay off! Go check it out over at Lisa’s Creative Designs. This one is really an example of what an inspiration board means to me.

A hammered homemade shade?! Oh my! This one is just so dramatic and so grown up, I could see this in any high dollar home with rustic farm house decor. I love that she left the base a little shabby too and not a solid white. Go check it out over at Michelle James Designs.

I’m going to have to admit that when I saw this lamp my heart dropped. I literally had just purchased an almost identical lamp at walmart, why on earth did I do that?! Here is the perfect example of why there really is absolutely no reason to buy new! Check it out over at Mountain Modern Life.

I love, love, lovelovelove this shade! She made it herself by covering an old shade in this beautiful fabric. The base is also a thrifted find and isn’t that color she chose for it just stunning?! For sure you can tell I was really inspired by that shade in my own lamp makeover! Go check out how she did it over at Homemade in Heels!

Isn’t this just a lovely lady? So delicate and sweet with the paisley lamp shade and the nickel base, hard to believe what this old lamp used to look like! Another perfect example of a new shade, a little paint and BOOM better then brand new! Go check it out at Erin Spain’s website.

And now, my own lamp makeover! Can you see how I was inspired by the lamps that came before it? My hubby wanted to toss this old gold lamp he had during his bachelor days but I knew better. I started out slow, not really sure how I was going to bring this odd base up to date but once I had it painted inspiration struck and that twine I think really gave it a whole new look! I love those bold shades so we went and grabbed this one new from our local walmart and I think

It just goes to show – there is no need to buy new when it comes to lamps!

Featured lamps are outstanding. Rich colors and trendy designs. I personally loved this beautiful collection of them. An eccentric table lamp is all to make a space cool and perfect.
