Renovating a Home? Here Are 3 Reasons You Need Home Air Filters. Keeping yourself safe from airborne toxins is mandatory while working on DIY and construction projects ESPECIALLY when working with older furniture or in an old home. Living in a Covid-19 world right now where I’m masked the majority of my days it dawned on me why I was having no problem with the masks when so many people I knew just hated them. Its because I’m used to them! I’ve spent months (if not years at this point) of my life all masked up whether it was during the renovation or when I’ve been stripping old furniture etc. it is just SO important to protect ourselves!

Besides a random peak from reveals of other parts of the house this is the very first time I've ever wrote a post about our back hall!

If you’ve taken on a new DIY in the form of a project property, there’s no denying that renovating a home is a massive undertaking – and it’s also a messy one, especially if you’re doing a complete gut job. There’s dirt and dust being kicked up, which can be pretty uncomfortable and potentially even hazardous if you’re going to be living in the house you’re remodeling.

Fortunately, there is one simple and effective tool you can use to optimize the air quality in your project home: home air filters. Here are three reasons you need home air filters if you’re in the middle of a home renovation project.

  1. They Remove Harmful Toxins

The main purpose that air filters serve is cleaning the air that is pumped into your heating, ventilating and air conditioning (HVAC) system from the outside. An air filter removes substances like pollen, dust, mold, smoke and bacteria, preventing it from entering your house and potentially harming you or your loved ones.

  1. Prevent Medical Reactions

It’s extremely harmful on the human body to be regularly ingesting dust, particularly if you have an allergy to it. Roughly 20 million Americans suffer from dust or dust mite allergies, making the problem incredibly pervasive.

When you have an allergic reaction, your immune system is essentially viewing a certain substance as harmful; from there, inflammation ensues. Typically the symptoms will be minor, such as sneezing or watery eyes, but they can become more severe and can even be life-threatening.

Similarly, for people with respiratory conditions, such as asthma, poor air quality can be dire to their health. The materials flying around during a renovation can prompt allergy-induced asthma and can potentially endanger the lives of asthmatics.

By purchasing home air filters, you’ll get rid of these unpleasant and harmful substances, and prevent any allergic reactions or asthma attacks from taking place. With that, you’ll not only be improving the enjoyability of your space, but you’ll be improving its safety.

  1. Neutralizes Foul Odors

Anyone who’s ever done a renovation knows that there can be some strange smells from time to time.

Whether it’s dirt being trekked in by construction workers or the potent odor of fresh paint, it can be overwhelming on the senses. Even if you’ve recently finished your renovation, you may notice some residual fumes and smells that you’re dying to get rid of. After all, there’s nothing particularly homey about these scents.

Home air filters can help massively in neutralizing unpleasant smells in your space. It’s important to note that air filters weren’t designed for this exact purpose; as we mentioned earlier, their main intent is to remove contaminants from the air. However, in doing that, they are sometimes able to minimize nasty odors, which is widely seen as an unexpected bonus.

If you’re in the midst of renovating a home, don’t feel like you need to learn to live with poor air quality. Instead, get on top of it and take the necessary steps to improve your air quality.

By purchasing and installing home air filters, you’ll remove toxins from the air, prevent adverse medical reactions, and eliminate foul smells in the home. Improve the quality of air and improve your quality of life.
