Well now that spring has FINALLY arrived, my dreaming has turned to swings! Let’s build some! These are some of my favorites I’ve found on Pinterest and stashed away for a later time because, seriously, who doesn’t want to swing away a beautiful summer day? Contrary to popular belief, I do NOT feel that swings are for kids in any way. Many of these are very grown up swings for us “adults” lol
(I do not own any of these images or have I yet to try any of these projects and all of the images are linked directly to the pins so make sure and click on through to their owners and for a closer look at the plans!)
Of all of the swings on this post, this one is definitely the easiest to build! Anyone could make this out of a pallet and have it up and swinging in just an hour or too! I think that’s what I love most about it, easy wood working is one of my favorite past times.
Here’s a sweet simple little swing that anyone could make with just a few tools! I can see several of these in a row would be so much fun for the kiddos and adults alike!
Of the swings here today this one is going to require the most work and wood working experience but, if your up to the challenge, it will also last a LONG time! The posts here would also double as a great trellis for climbing vines.
Who needs a hammock when you could have one of these? Oh my gosh I am so totally in love and I am definitely going to have make “swings” for myself this summer! Can you just imagine soaking away a glorious summer day on one of these? Goodness, I may have to call in backup or I might never get out of it!
For real a great swing, easy to build out of a pallet wood that also includes a spot for my beer? I’m totally sold!
Thanks for coming by guys and checking out my future dreams for my home! I was actually thinking of purchases myself a hammock this year but, for real, some of these seem like such a better idea!
I sure wish I still had the big oak tree so I could build a swing and hang it from the tree. You showed some good ones. Have you made a decision yet?
Hi Debra! I’m thinking about building the double swing with the drink holder and the back on it! So far though I need to take stock of my materials, they always seem to tell me what to build lol Thanks for coming by!
These are some great swings! My friend has a huge swing at her cottage overlooking the lake and each time we visit I find myself wishing we had trees that would allow us to make a swing like that. I just love swings!
Me too! I definitely need to add some swings or at least a hammock to my yard!
My biggest issue is deciding which one I ask my husband to build! Really fun ideas, and who doesn’t love a swing?!?!!? Thanks for gathering so many good ideas.
Thanks Ellen, I know exactly what you mean – I want all of them!
This is a great collection of swings! I love the pallet swing bed but they’re all great!
Thanks Sheri, I can’t wait to make at least one of them!
So many alternatives. I love the one with the red pillows. Thank you for sharing at The Really Crafty Link Party. Pinned.
Thanks Teresa!
This made me want to run out and build swings – I was inspired, eager, then I remembered, I am DIY challenged and my swing would be somewhat less than inspiring and most likely dangerous, so I sent the link to a friend who is handy. Thanks for the inspiration. Dropped by today from #BloggersPitStop and so glad I was able to swing by. Hope this weekend treats you kindly. ๐
Thanks for coming by Donnie! Yup I can’t wait to build a swing or two this summer, have a great weekend!
That Pallet Swing Bed is awesome!
Right!? I’m gonna have to make one!
Love all of these Tarah. Nothing beats having a swing or hammock in a beautiful garden
Thanks Michelle, I can’t wait to build one of them!
Wonder if I could make one of those pallet beds for my room? thanks for sharing this at #WoW Words on Wednesday Linkup
