Do you want to make your bedroom feel extra cozy and warm? Maybe you just feel as though it is lacking certain elements and you want to do something about this. Either way, this guide will help you to not only transform your space, but to also make sure that you are not overlooking simple tricks that could make all the difference. If you want to find out more, or if you are ready to make that change then take a look below.
White on White Isn’t Something to be Feared
Believe it or not, white on white can be a fantastic foundation for anyone who wants to create a cozy bedroom. White walls, white linen and more are all very good elements for you to be using, not to mention that you can also add some warm pillows and thick curtains if you want to soften the room a little. You have to remember that the accessories you choose are almost as important as your decor. If you overlook one or the other, then you may find that your space never ends up looking as good as it could.
Add some Natural Textures
Wood, wicker, stone, wool, linen and more are all materials that are known for giving off a lot of warmth. If possible, you need to try and dot them around the room so you can make your bedroom feel super cozy. If you aren’t sure where to start or if you feel as though you have enough blankets lying around then simply try and opt for things such as suede lampshades, wool pillowcases or even wicker furniture. If you can do this, then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to get the result you are looking for.
Get a Big Rug
Imagine getting out of bed and then sinking your feet into a nice, big fluffy rug. This probably sounds amazing, right? You cannot get cozier than having a giant wool rug right next to your bed, so don’t overlook things like this. If you want to try and get the best result out of the rug you are choosing, then it is a good idea for you to try and match it in with the room, but at the same time, add a little pop of color. If your bedroom is very cream or neutral, then try and opt for a brown rug. If you have a light grey bedroom, then a dark grey rug would be very suited. If you can follow this rule, then any rug will look great, and you can eliminate a lot of the guesswork.
Opt for Warm Lamps
One great thing that you can do to try and make your bedroom feel cozier would be for you to try and add some elements of soft lighting. This could easily include lamps, for example. Try and choose either soft or deep colors for your light shades. This will add color, or brightness to the room, depending on what it is you feel as though you are lacking. It is wise for you to make sure that the actual bulb isn’t too harsh if possible. If you can make sure that the lighting is nice and soft then this will emit cozy vibes, so be mindful of that if you can.
Paint a Feature Wall
If white just isn’t for you, then why not try and pick the wall at the head of the bed and then paint that in a solid color? Warm colors tend to include reds, browns or even earthy greens. When you utilize colors like this, you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to get the result you are looking for. Of course, if you have no idea where to start in terms of color then you have to remember that there are lots of apps out there that give you the chance to see the color you are thinking about, on the wall. This is usually done through augmented reality, and it is a great way for you to test the waters a little.
Aim for the Cottage Theme
Whenever you think about a cozy room, do you think about a warm cottage in the middle of winter? If so, then this is the vibe you should be going for. Believe it or not, it is more than possible for you to create this, and it doesn’t take a lot of work either. Simply try and go for a checked throw, some softer pastel accessories, and even a wrought-iron bed. Want to buy a new mattress so you can get really cozy? If so, then you will certainly need this mattress sizes and dimensions chart. If you theme your bedroom so that it reflects a cottage, then you will soon find that everything suddenly feels warmer and that it is easier than ever for you to get the look you are going for.
Get Creative
Did you know that you can make your bedroom feel super cozy by simply trying to add some candles? Why not try and get creative with them? Normal candles can easily make your room smell great, but at the same time, artificial candles that are put inside glass lanterns are a very good way for you to eliminate any safety concerns, while also keeping your home looking great. Why not try and see if you can pull this off today, or even consider putting some pebbles in the bottom of your candle lanterns if you want to make them look a bit more decorative.
Thick Curtains are Better
Thick or textured curtains tend to scream coziness. That being said, it is more than possible for you to layer them as well. Consider having some netted curtains underneath with some thicker or darker curtains on top. If you can do this, then you will soon find that you can drastically add to the look of a room without having to try too hard at all. Experimentation is key here, so don’t be afraid to get a little creative when you are trying to choose curtains. After all, they remain to be a great way for you to either add color, or tie in existing colors.
Use your Headboard
If you do not want to have any colored paint or even any patterns in your bedroom, then why not turn your headboard into a feature? If you can use a soft or velvet material, then this will add a lot of dynamic to the room. You can even opt for a headboard in a lavish pattern if you want. Either way, if you can make the headboard the centerpiece of the room, then this will help you out more than you realize, so be mindful of this if at all possible.
Overload on Fabric
One of the best ways for you to turn your bedroom into a cozy paradise would be for you to try and use a mixture of different fabrics. You could simply try and drape a blanket over the back of a chair, or you could add some throw pillows that don’t really match one another. If you can do this, then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to add color, texture and even coziness to the room.
Stacks of Books
You really shouldn’t have tech in your room as it will disturb your sleep. Ditch any electronics and try and bring in some books instead. If you can add a small bookshelf and display your hard-backed books, then this will give you the chance to add some decor and you may even find that it is a great way for you to unwind should you not be able to sleep at night. Remember you can buy some fake books if you like the idea of books being on show, but don’t have any you’d like to display.
Splash on Good Linen
Sure, looks are important if you want to make a room feel cozy but at the same time, you need to make sure that you don’t forget about the feel of your bedroom. Splurge out on great linen and make sure that you also get some soft sheets. If you can do this, then you will soon find that you can sink into your bed after a long day, and this can really help you to feel better. Make sure that you also have some sheets with a high thread count, as this will make all the difference.
So, there are many things that you can do to try and make yourself feel better in the bedroom and if you follow this guide, then you will soon find that it is easier than ever for you to make a positive change. Why not see what kind of transformation you could make today? It’s never been easier, and you never know, you may find that you are able to relieve stress and promote your mental health by simply being mindful of your bedroom surroundings.
