Home accessories are one of the best parts of decorating and designing rooms! I don’t totally agree with everything on this list but after trying to DIY more than one lampshade and, considering how inexpensive they are, I resoundingly agree with that one! Mirrors can be very expensive but very difficult to literally DIY ourselves. Blankets can be made of course but I am reminded of the insanely soft throw that Lodi purchased for me for Xmas and I just have no idea how it would even be possible to DIY such a wonderful accessory!

Do you love DIY projects? There is nothing more rewarding than creating your own furniture, wall dressings and accessories for your home. It is a way to have something fun to work on, as well as add a certain unique style to almost any room in your house.
But the truth is, there are some home accessories you should not DIY. This is particularly true if you are wanting to add luxury and an opulent style to your home. Let’s take a look at what they are so you can purchase them instead.
Sofa Throw
If you want to add another texture or cozy feeling to your living room, interior designers will advise you to add a throw to your sofa. You can add everything from color to a pattern to spice up a room and enjoy a luxury look. But, something you should not try to make is a quilt. A lot of people that love DIY think that this is going to create the same style you are looking for. But, if you want to add elegance and luxury, you are best to purchase a sofa throw. This is going to enable you to enjoy a higher quality material and buy into a modern, luxury trending style.
Lampshades
Next up is lampshades. There are a lot of tutorials out there that claim you can make an attractive lampshade for your home. This may be so, but if you are wanting to create a classy and trendy lampshade, it might be best to stick to what brands offer for sale. For example, you can check out luxury lampshades at the Penny Morrison site at https://www.pennymorrison.com/collections/lampshades-1.
There are a variety of colors that will look beautiful in any home, adding warmth and style to an empty or ‘tired looking’ corner of the room. While DIY projects are always fun, sometimes you need to know when to purchase accessories and when to DIY. In the case of lampshades, leave all temptation of DIY and concentrate on finding the perfect luxury lampshade.
Wall Art
Unless you have experience with art and have created pieces before, it may be best to stay away from trying to create wall art for your home. While DIY is often appealing since you can be creative and save money at the same time, you simply cannot recreate talented and beautiful wall art that you can purchase. To create the uxurious style you are looking for, it is best to look out for the original works of professional artists, or good quality prints that you will love to add to your walls.
Mirrors
If there is one home accessory that is trending right now, it is mirrors. A lot of homeowners are investing in mirrors as a decoration piece, as well as to make rooms look bigger and reflect natural light. So, if you are somebody that likes DIY, you might be tempted to try to renovate or repurpose mirrors you already have at home. But, the truth is, this is not going to look grand and lavish in the way you want it to. There is such a great choice of mirrors online and in stores now, which can transform your home.
