This article makes so many good points! ne of my favorite ideas is probably the most obvious one: Create multi function spaces. Most folks these days hardly use a room JUST for dining anymore. Many times a breakfast nook is plenty and the dining room can be converted to a play room, an office, a doggie day care, whatever you may need! My entryway/office/dining room is a perfect example of a how room can totally serve a ton of different purposes!
Another great point this article makes is the idea of a garden shed. You can actually purchase ready-made, really nice sheds these days affordably! And, for those of us with garages, a garden shed can open up a ton of space beside our cars!
Even adding a deck can add so much living space to our homes in the spring/summer/fall that it makes it worth staying.

If there is one thing that a lot of homeowners wish for, it has to be more space in their home. Usually, the only way to get more space is to move into a larger home. However, as property prices continue to rise through the roof these days, not many families can afford to buy a bigger place no matter how much they need the extra space.
Are you worried that you will be stuck in a home that is too cramped for the future?
Well, there might not be any reason to worry just yet. In fact, there are ways to benefit from more space at home without even moving house to a bigger location. Read on to find out how it is done!
Declutter
First of all, you need to try giving your home a thorough declutter. If you are running out of space for all of your family’s belongings then it could be a sign that you have too many!
So, it’s worth going through everything in your home to see what you can recycle or resell. Try not to throw anything out in the trash, though, as that will be a waste.
If things are still in good condition but you no longer need or use them, then you might be able to make some money from them by listing them on eBay. Of course, if things are very old, worn, or broken, then you will have no choice but to dispose of them.
At least this should free up a bit more space in your home, though!
Create Multifunctional Rooms
If you don’t have a lot of rooms in your home, you will be better off trying to give each one a multi-functional purpose.
For instance, you will be able to easily integrate your home office into your bedroom. And that way, you don’t have to use up your spare bedroom as an office. If you have a dining room, then this can also incorporate some aspects of a home office as well.
For those of you who benefit from a large kitchen, you might want to add a dining-room table to create a kitchen-dining area.
Take Advantage Of Self-Storage Facilities
If you try to declutter your home but find that you still don’t have enough cupboard and closet space for everything, there is no need to panic just yet. You can always put some of your belongings into self-storage.
This is a great solution for anything that you need to keep hold of but don’t use on a regular basis. If you click on this link you will be able to find out about PODS Storage.
When you opt for one of these storage pods, the firm will deliver one to your home. You then fill it with everything that needs to be stored, and the firm will then pick it up and take it back to their storage facility. It couldn’t be any easier!
Renovate Your Attic Area
Like most people, you probably have a few boxes of things stuffed away in your attic. But have you ever thought about renovating this space and turning it into a proper room?
Not only will this give you an extra room to use, but it will also give you more practical storage space.
You will find that it is possible to store a lot more in a renovated attic than an unrenovated on as you will be able to add cupboards, closets, and more storage units to it once it is a real room rather than just a hatch in the ceiling.
Add Some Storage To Your Garden
Why not think about adding some storage to your garden as well?
If you don’t already have a shed in the garden, it really is worth adding one to it as it will give you extra space to store all of your gardening equipment.
There are other kinds of garden storage you might want to think of as well. For instance, you can now buy really secure bike storage facilities so that your bicycles don’t take up too much space in your home.
Consider Converting Your Garage
Some homes have a garage and a driveway. If yours is the same, but you find that you rarely put your car in the garage, then it could be a good idea to consider converting the garage into an extra room.
Just like with the attic conversion, once you convert your garage, you will can increase the size of your home by another room.
So, how will you find more space in your home?
