Figuring out how to motivate yourself can be a real challenge sometimes. I’ve been known to make such a mess that my OCD forces me to complete a project. Whatever works I guess lol I’ve always said though that no matter how long a project lasts and just feels like you can’t get motivated to tackle it to TAKE A BREAK for a little bit. And always remember to keep your eye on the prize which is usually a wonderful feel of accomplishment and generally something you will love for years!

It is inevitable that we will all have duties, tasks, and projects around the house that we know we should be doing, but that we will put off indefinitely for one reason or another. The majority of these “delayed” projects have been languishing on the backburner for years, never receiving the attention they so richly deserve.
The ability to complete tasks that you are not “motivated” to complete is often required; yet, a dash of motivation might be beneficial in order to avoid working against yourself when attempting to get one’s home in better shape.
So, here are a few ideas to help you get motivated to finally start working on those home improvement projects.
Invest some time in thinking and visualizing what your perfect home might look like before purchasing it.
If you are not too delighted with the state of your current home, but you do not really feel any great urge to give it a thorough renovation, it is possible that you are not putting enough effort into picturing how much better things could be in the future.
Spend some time imagining what your perfect home might look like before you start building it. Flooring made of vintage quality wood, a conservatory, skylights, or whatever else takes your fancy.
A visualization exercise like that will usually leave you feeling at least a little more motivated to start organizing your actual home in order to bring it a little closer to the golden, brilliant model of home excellence that you have just imagined in your mind’s eye.
Work to lower your overall stress levels, and your household duties will become much more bearable as a natural result.
You will perceive any tiny setback as a tremendous personal tragedy if you are excessively worried, wired, and worked up. You will perceive any chore or errand as an awful torment if you are extremely stressed, wired, and worked up.
Of all, being “stressed” does not necessarily imply that you have a lot on your plate. Specific to the feeling of being overwhelmed, of being in over your head, and of being unable to cope with the situation, it is defined as follows:
Importantly, the sensation of stress is mostly caused by the stress hormone cortisol, which, if it continues elevated at dangerously high levels for an extended period of time, can cause physical harm to your body, deplete your energy reserves, and destabilize your mood.
In general, try to lower your stress levels by doing things like eating more starchy foods, taking more hot baths, getting more sleep, or taking the appropriate herbal remedies. The reduction of stress will automatically result in a reduction in the amount of time spent on chores as well as an increase in the amount of time spent on different tasks.
Come up with creative ways to make tasks and errands more enjoyable on their own.
Consider the following scenario: you had a job that required you to deal with a seemingly never-ending quantity of debris, put things in the recycling, vacuum with your Miele vacuum, and paint the walls for days at a time in order to get your home tidy and organized.
Those are not particularly pleasant thoughts for the majority of individuals, and they do not paint a particularly cheery picture of their weekend.
Come up with creative ways to make the jobs and errands that you have to run more enjoyable in and of their own right. Often, something as easy as listening to a good audiobook while you clean may make a significant difference in your productivity.
