You guys may not recognize this little stained table even though it was in our entryway for years because I had it covered up. Unfortunately the coverings didn’t entirely protect it from the fact that it was my “plant stand” and inevitably it did end up water stained. When I did the big tackle of moving my office out of the entryway I also redesigned our entire entryway and this little table had to move out too.

Fortunately there was a perfect spot for it in the workshop and getting another surface in there was awesome.

This table happened to be an “extra” hanging out, in the way, at my day job so I adopted it.

Yeah I’ve never turned down free furniture if it’ll fit in my car…

This little stained table needed a makeover though as I wasn’t going to be covering it in the workshop and wanted it to have a tough finish instead.

(Stained or not it needed a new paint job to fit in here anyway.)

It fit under our drills and drivers along the side wall and left plenty of room beneath it for the extra “shelf” I had from the shelf unit I put together on the opposite side of the room.

As you can see this is where all of our power tools now have a home.

I know its not exactly “pretty” but to have them all in easy reach is awesome compared to before when we had to dig threw bins to find them.

I brought the table out into our kitchen and set it on plastic one evening. After a quick scrub it only took one coat of gloss black Rustoleum to make this stained table look like new again!

I returned it to the workshop office and think it looks a lot better.

We’re finally getting there with the completion of the office / workshop combination. I painted out the desks / tables and added a bunch of practical additions like the new rug and more storage shelving.

VERY excited to only have one more project here than I can finally tidy the whole place up for a reveal!
