Welcome to the To Grandma’s House We Go Link Party #277. Like usual after the holidays I am equally (totally) relieved that they’re over and also sad that they’re over lol. So great to get the house back, to pack up all the decorations and step in to the new year. This last weekend was BRUTAL here in northern Minnesota. Saturday we had a high of -10 and wind chill lows hitting nearly -50. We did not leave the house and were suddenly glad for the two feet of snow acting as insulation for the whole farm. Happy New Year everyone, I hope you had a wonderful holiday! Now, on to the Party!
CALLING ALL BLOGGERS!! The first Sunday of every month is our DIY Blog Hop. For more information on the themes, dates and how to join – Click Here! This link party is all about you sharing your posts about homemade, homemaking, DIY, recycling, upcycling, before and afters (of rooms, furniture, whatever), build projects, vintage, any kind of creative, frugal, time saving, money saving or green advice, canning and old fashioned recipes. Going back to simpler times, simpler days where we used all that we had and never bought new until there was absolutely no choice.
* Up to 3 links per person. * Make sure you check out a few other links while you’re here! * You MUST follow me on at least one social platform: Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest or Twitter
(By linking up you’re giving me permission to feature you in the next party by including your post URL and one of your images. You are also giving me permission to share one of your images across all of my social media platforms and in the Grandma’s House weekly DIY newsletter to promote the party.)
Tips to get featured: Have an Instagram account! (I love being able to tag the blogger on Instagram when I feature them.) Images really are everything, having great eye catching images is another trick to getting featured!
I’m sad to say that link parties are becoming a thing of the past… Lots of bloggers have stopped hosting and stopped joining as they aren’t seeing benefit to their SEO or traffic numbers. How do I feel about this? I would really miss you guys! I’ve been hosting this party for over 200 weeks so, for now, as long as you guys keep sharing, I do plan on keeping the party going.
Thank you for hosting, and the kind feature of my Death Row Chicken! Have a great week ahead and Happy New Year!
Thanks or sharing with us Melynda!
I too am dismayed about the gradual disappearance of link parties and blogging in general. However, I am elated that you will continue to host(ess) your link party as long as people are sharing. I need to keep on blogging for some reason, although participation and connection to my blog are quickly waning, which makes me so so sad. I love looking at the wonderful diy home projects you do and marvel at your talent and tenacity! Keep on keeping on. May blogs/link parties live on!
Linda thank you so much for sharing with us! I look forward to your beautiful hand made cards every week! Blogging can feel like a “trudge” sometimes lol what helped me is a doable publishing calendar. Just one post a week for me (besides this party) so I don’t stress myself out. Good luck!
Happy New Year Tarahlynn! We heard here in Canada that Minnesota got hit hard. We made the coldest city on the planet list during the holidays and sadly that’s the second time in two years. It is -29C (-20.2F) here today and our furnace has been running nonstop. Its days like this that I’m so glad to be working from home.
Marie, I am jealous I wish I could work from home so much during these insanely bad winter days. I heard the old farmer’s almanac say that winter this year is supposed to be brutal but SHORT. Let’s hope they’re right I’m already ready for summer! Happy new year, stay warm!
thank you, thank you, for featuring my melting potatoes.
Thanks for sharing with us Kimberly!
