Welcome to the To Grandma’s House We Go Link Party #478. Well it is officially cold here and we’re all a bit bummed about it. Even saw some snow flurries… bummer. This far north too we really feel the time change and I just can’t believe its almost December already! So, I’m not much of a sweets person but I do really like a good snickerdoodle cookie. I am also a HUGE fan of apple cider so when I saw that recipe I’m featuring for caramel apple cider snickerdoodles I darned near drooled. I sent it right to my mom who is the baker in the family so hopefully she’ll make them ASAP. Go check them out! Now, on to the party!

This link party is about all of us sharing homemade, homemaking, DIY, recycling, upcycling, before and afters (of rooms, furniture, whatever), build projects, vintage, any kind of creative, frugal, time saving, money saving or green advice, canning and old fashioned recipes. Going back to simpler times, simpler days where we used all that we had and never bought new until there was absolutely no choice.

Five features will be chosen every week, promoted when the next party starts, shared across all of our social media and included in our weekly newsletter! I’ll tag you if I can on Instagram and Facebook too!

I’m sad to say that lots of bloggers have stopped hosting link parties but I would really miss you guys! I’ve been hosting this party for over 400 weeks, so as long as you guys keep sharing, I’ll keep this party going!

Thanks for featuring my Caramel Apple Cider Snickerdoodles. So much great food to bake/cook right now and I shared a couple of my favorites from the ’50s (which I still make). The Carrot Gingerbread Mold Ring was always on my grandmother’s Thanksgiving table (and my mom’s at Christmas). It was before carrot cake existed and is a cross between carrot cake & gingerbread. My other favorite was the frozen Cranberry Pineapple “salad” which really does taste like ice cream! Gram put squares on lettuce leaves and my mom put it in little cups. So, ice cream and carrot during the main meal! worked for me then and still does (haha) * Happy Fall & catch y’all again next week!

A cross between carrot cake and gingerbread sounds like a match made in Heaven! Thank you for sharing with us Cindy!
