They’ve come a really long way with windows over the last hundred years. I still have a few of the original windows from this house stashed to use in future projects but few of them lasted uninstallation due to them being so brittle. Nowadays windows are very thick and much safer to handle. New windows are an awesome investment for a home that is always a sure bet.

Painting the master bedroom and the chimney too. It has finally started guys! I am so excited to finally tackle our second floor! First thing

The windows in your home play an important role in letting in some much needed light and fresh air. So when you move into your new home and need to vamp up the space, you might be wondering what you need to do in order to really maximize the space you have. Here are some useful solutions as to how you can make the most of your windows.

Use Them as a Focal Point

Instead of just thinking of them as a gap in the wall perhaps you could turn your windows into a focal point instead. You could adorn the window ledge with a variety of plants that are both vibrant and fragrant that will automatically draw your eyes in towards the windows. That way when you step into the room you will automatically turn your attention to the windows, which could be a nice focal point in your living room or master bedroom

Ensure You Utilize The Space Wisely

Depending on the style of your home and windows it can be really useful to get a custom made Bay Window Curtain Pole fitted. This means that you can get curtains fitted exactly into the space that you have as opposed to buying a general, standard size instore that will not look as neat or stylish when you hang your curtains. It’s worth the extra money if it means your curtains will fit properly and will of course look nice in your home.

Paint The Window Frames

A good way to maintain the window frames and keep them looking in tip-top condition is to paint them regularly. This will prevent your windows from looking tired and run down when the paint starts to peel. So if you keep on top of this it will ensure that you do not need to replace the window frames because they are not looking their best and make your windows look old and dated.

Get Double Glazing

If it is possible to do so with the style of your windows then it is worth considering double glazing. This is ideal for fall and winter when the temperature drops dramatically and feels cold outside. It will keep the warmth of your home indoors and prevent any hot air from escaping when closed. They can also be great for when you live in bustling city areas so that you can keep outside noise pollution to a minimum. Changing your windows to double glazing, means you can still make the most of the natural light without having to compromise on drastic temperature changes and noise pollution.

Clean The Glass

Your windows are going to look so much better if the glass panels are nice and clean. Regularly going over them with a natural, non toxic window cleaner will help to keep your glass glistening which will make your room feel brighter and more airy. You don’t want to buy some nice new curtains for them to be ruined by dirty windows.

Overall it is quite easy to make the most of the windows in your home so that you can enjoy your surroundings at ease whilst also getting the privacy that you want.
